On Friday night, Full House pulled off yet another impressive, first-class event, further establishing itself as a pioneer of tech house music in Leicester, introducing one of London’s finest DJs, Rossko, to the city.
Full House residents, Jes With One S and Rivmah, kick started the evening, opening the night with an energetic, jovial set before handing over the decks to the talented duo, Murphys Law, and rising star GuyMac.
The Full House residents have become synonymous with producing upbeat and melodic tech house sets, which blend elements of deep house, electro, trip-hop, and post-90s techno to produce a joyful and accomplished style of dance music. In a nutshell, the team know how to warm up their crowd and evoke excitement from the dancefloor before passing over the decks to their headline act.
Friday’s event was pretty special with FUSE resident and international legend, Rossko, closing the evening with a two-and-a-half-hour set – a rare treat for Leicester’s tech house community. As expected, the East London born DJ smashed his set, showcasing his own genre of groovy, dubbed-out minimal tech house rollers, inspired by his musical upbringing and London influences.
Rossko’s minimal style has attitude. It’s slick, positive, timeless, and above all, natural. A well-established and poised selector, Rossko has deservedly established himself as a major player in the tech house circuit, playing huge international festivals, such as Sonus, and upholding a 10-year residency with London’s most respected tech house event, FUSE, alongside Archie Hamilton and Enzo Sigagusa.
I got the pleasure of seeing Rossko twice over summer, first at Barcelona’s OFF Week Festival, and then again in August at Kappa Futur. Both times he blew me away, so it was incredible to get to see him again, but this time up close and personal in a small basement in the heart of Leicester.
Full House is evolving. With each event, the line ups flourish, the crowd grows bigger, the production improves, and the energy and atmosphere somehow outstrips the party before. The team’s vison is evident, and I am confident that their passion-driven events, and humble nature will continue to path their success.
A huge well done to everyone involved for putting Leicester on the map – I can’t wait for the next event.
