It’s winter and it’s cold, however, the party doesn’t stop just because there’s 4” of snow on the ground. With some unmissable events taking place this time of year, you can guarantee you’ll catch us girls, clinging to summer fashion, battling the cold in skirts, dresses, crop tops and shorts. But, maybe there’s a better way, with flares and cargo pants dominating 2019’s winter fashion, trousers in the rave, are the new way forward.

If you’re anything like me, the freezing weather is a wonderful excuse to slack on the shaving and forget the fake tan. Pale pins and hairy legs, however, doesn’t look brilliant in a skirt. Likewise, wearing dress out in the middle of February, then moaning to my boyfriend for the entire night that I’m cold, was starting to get annoying. But thankfully, PLT, Motel Rocks and other online fashion retailors have brought out some amazing winter warmers, perfect for events! Here’s a few of my February 2019 favourites.

Neon Lime Cargo Joggers, Pretty Little Thing, £18

Neon colours are all in this season with electric green, orange and yellow taking over winters typical boring darker shades. These cargo joggers are the perfect way to brighten your winter, while keeping warm and comfortable. Channelling your inner Sporty Spice, these trousers can be dressed with a black, long-sleeved bodysuit (for even extra warmth) or, if you’re feeling extra jazzy, there is a matching neon crop top to complete the look.

Dastan Trousers in Small Dogtooth by Motel, Motel Rocks, £40.00

These dogtooth print trousers are effortlessly cool. Worn with a black bralette or bando, these trousers make the perfect rave outfit styled with some funky sunglasses and chunky trainers. Tailored at the waist, the trousers are a flattering fit and can be dressed up or down depending on the look you want to go for. The trousers come in a range of patterns including pinstripe and check.

Silver lurex kick flare trousers, I Saw It First, £30.00

Let’s talk about flares! A reborn trend, iconic to the 70s and the personification of disco fever. Worn with chunky boots or platforms, the trousers offer a cool and classy vibe, while keeping warm this winter. This groovy style combined with the silver glittery print make these trousers perfect for every event, especially disco-tech and house events, such as Glitterbox.

Burgundy Snake Coated Zip Front Trousers – Destynie, Rebellious Fashion, £39.99

On to my favourite print this season is snakeskin. As a massive lover of everything animal print, these coated trousers are one of my favourite buys this winter. I first saw these trousers on fashion blogger, Leigh Woods, and fell in love with the design. The deep red compliments the print, while the cut of the trousers offer a unique fit with the flattering rustic zip around the waist. Worn with a red lace bodysuit these trousers can be adapted to look really glamorous, or alternatively they can be worn with a slogan t-shirt and some boots to adopt a more casual look.

Kappa Tracksuit Bottoms with Banda Logo Taping, ASOS, £45.00

Another fashion brand resurrected from the dead is Kappa. Out of nowhere, it seems Kappa has regained its cool in recant years, popular amongst ravers for their trainers, tracksuits and t-shirts. These trousers are particularly cool mixing sportswear and high street fashion, creating an effortlessly relaxed look. The contrast between the red and black offers a striking look which is complimented by the brass logo, boldly printed down the side of the leg. A quirky, comfortable look to keep you comfy while your dancing.
